Ideas for Father's or Mother's Day books
1. A collection of your favourite photos throughout the years
2. A note or letter from each family member, or pictures from younger children
3. The top reasons why your mum/dad is the best
4. Photos of your mum/dad's hobby or interests throughout the years or Dad's cars he has owned. Homes you have lived in etc.
5. If your mum/mum-in-law/dad loves to cook or garden, take photos of them doing this.
6. If anyone in the family is successful at something, include photos or scans of trophies, awards or certificates and tell them what part she/he played in the achievements
7. Take photos of things that are important to your mum/dad. These could be family heirlooms, things she/he has created, treasured gifts, collections etc. Get the camera and go around the house looking for things that are important to your family.
8. Maybe include things that are important in your parent's past. Like pictures of parents and grandparents, a family tree, old friends, school photos, the houses you or they lived in, stories from loved ones and things they have kept over the years.
9. Do you know your mums favourite colour and flower. These are great to include.
10. Take photos of the family current or past pets.
11. Write about the wonderful vacations you have had together, or a book filled with photos from a trip away.
12. Scan photos of great times mum shared with dad, wedding photos, new babies, trips etc
13. Just create a simple brag book with the last 12 months of photos with their grandchildren.
14. Have you given him/her a copy of your wedding photos yet? This is a lovely idea if you have been married recently. They would love to show this to family and friends.
15. What about a book filled with mum and dad’s own wedding photos? These may need scanning and preserving in a lovely hard bound book.
16. End the book with a lovely quote, poem, or just by saying I love you mum or dad.
17. If time is short, then don't complicate things. Just pick a simple theme you can handle, or use current digital photos, as these are ready to go into your book without the need to scan or photograph.
